Overlooking the Tualatin River on a steeply sloping lot, this new 3,000 SF home was planned to take advantage its southern exposure and expansive views. Built for a couple whose children had left home and started families of their own, the floor plan was created around a great room for family entertaining and a lower floor playroom for use by the grandchildren. The new construction faces a ravine and required a setback from the adjacent river. The house incorporates a deep roof overhang to protect from summer sun. A large shop is attached by a breezeway and is configured to be retrofitted with photovoltaic panels.
